Information for Teachers

Programs for Students

The Welty Environmental Center offers programs for preschool through grade 8. Teachers may arrange field trips to the Center at Beckman Mill County Park, presentations at the school, or both. Programs are interdisciplinary and focus on environmental topics. See the Environmental Programs for School Year 2010-2011.

Program fees are:
For school, scout or other organization having a program at the Welty Environmental Center:
Programs scheduled for up to 2 hours - $5 per student, no charge for teachers and chaperones (min. fee $40)
Programs scheduled for more than 2 hours - call for fee
For programs that Welty takes to an organization:
Whole School Outreach Programs - $150 for up to 3 hours, $250 for 3-5 hours
Mileage fees - $10 for round trip 25 miles or less from Center, $25 for round trips beyond 25 miles from Center
Birthday Parties - Includes 1 hour program, and 1 hour party $5 per child (min $30, max. of 12 children)
