Welty Environmental Center

Visiting WEC

The Welty Environmental Center is located at Beckman Mill County Park at 8606 County Road H, 6 miles west of Beloit, 1/2 mile south of Hwy 81. Open hours at the Center vary; please call 608-361-1377.

Beckman Mill County Park encompasses 50 acres and is part of the Rock County, Wisconsin, park system. The Park is home to the historic Beckman Mill, originally "Howe's Mill" and later "Newark Mills", which was built in 1868 on the east bank of Raccoon Creek in Newark Township. Beckman Mill has been restored to the mid-1920s era by the Friends of Beckman Mill. Near the Mill are a newly constructed dam and fish passage.
